PRODUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

Bookforum is printed on a web-offset press, using a 4-color (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) halftone separation process. Improperly sized material may be altered at our discretion. We strongly prefer Adobe InDesign or QuarkXpress files supplied on Macintosh disks (must include all necessary fonts; must also include graphics/logos/pictures in TIFF or EPS format at sufficient resolution; images must be 300 dpi at 100%; lineart must be 600 dpi at 100%). We also accept Illustrator EPS or PDF files. All files must be accompanied by a proof. Bookforum will only accept the following digital dot proofs for color matching or tone: PolaProof, Kodak Approval, Fuji Final Proof. Bookforum will not assume responsibility for color matching any other type of proof. A digital dot proof is not required for black-and-white ads; please provide a proof for layout confirmation.

There will be a $100 conversion charge for all material submitted otherwise. Copy for typesetting can be e-mailed to the New York office at: advertising@bookforum.com. Proofs will be e-mailed back for approval. Bookforum does not supply color proofs. Bookforum does not print PMS colors. We use the Pantone process-color simulator to convert PMS colors to process colors.

CHARGES, PAYMENTS, GENERAL

PAYMENTS

Full payment must come with materials for all first-time ads. US dollar checks to be sent to 350 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10001. All bills are due upon receipt. There will be an interest charge of 1.5% per month on overdue accounts. Foreign payment should be made by direct dollar transfer on a US bank to:

BOOKFORUM reserves the right to make additional charges for advertisements involving difficult composition or major alterations to copy and layout. Corrections on reproduction material are subject to extra charges.

RUSH CHARGE & CANCELLATION FEE

$100 for any material received after deadline. $150 for any ad canceled after deadline. No cancellation will be accepted after the magazine has gone to press.

GENERAL

BOOKFORUM reserves the right to decline any advertisement.
In the event of an error, ARTFORUM's liability shall not exceed the cost of the space occupied by the error. The publisher is not liable for delays in delivery or for nondelivery or any condition affecting production or delivery in any manner. Original art will be accepted only at customer's risk.

PRODUCTION CHARGES

Charges will be made for typesetting and any artwork, preparation of mechanicals, photocopies, etc., which may be required for making and correcting final art.
