The GOP made Trump more conservative — but Trump’s also making the GOP more conservative. Trump has no infrastructure plan — blame the GOP. The GOP deficit scam will never die. Budgets, bad faith and “balance”: These days, the G.O.P. basically lies about everything. Republicans aren’t hypocrites — they just have flawed principles. “A foreign adversary attacked our democracy, and Republicans don’t care because their guy won. Easily the most disgraceful act of partisanship in modern history”.

Where do Republicans go from here? It’s hard to see how it continues to function as a normal political party past 2021.
