Author Robert Strauss will discuss his new book Worst.President.Ever. Despite probably having the best governmental resume of anyone who has ever run for President, James Buchanan took every wrong direction when faced with a fork in the Presidential road. His maneuverings, never criminal, led the nation from prosperity and a tenuous unity to depression and civil war. He was the Worst. President. Ever.

Robert Strauss is a former Sports Illustrated reporter, a feature writer for the Philadelphia Daily News and a news and sports producer at KYW-TV. He has taught non-fiction writing at the University of Pennsylvania since 1999 and has been a freelance writer since then, his major client being the New York Times, where he has had more than 1000 bylines. He is also the author of Daddy’s Little Goalie, a funny/sentimental memoir about being the dad of girl athletes.

Books will be available for purchase after the talk. This program is co-sponsored by Friends in the City (FitC) and the Philadelphia City Institute Library. It will be held in the meeting room on the library’s lower level and we regret there is no elevator. Please call 215-685-6621 with questions.
